Overview

DataFlex TechStack features are planned and delivered in phases. This page shows the current implementation status across all phases: what is released today, and on which platforms. To see what a given phase sets out to deliver and how far it has come, open Phase 1 — WebApp Clients and Apps, Phase 2 — Cross-Platform Deployments or Phase 3 — Unplanned and Additional.

Status as of 26 August 2026.

✓ Released and usable · ◐ Released, with the limitation named in the cell · ✗ Still to be implemented · N/A Not applicable to that platform · TBD Not yet decided

What a status means here

This page reports released status, not plans. ✓ and ◐ mean the item is available today and ought to be usable, with ◐ naming its limitation in the cell. ✗ means it is still to be implemented, including work that is currently under development — the phase pages say when it is planned. TBD means the decision has not been made yet, and N/A means the item does not apply to that platform.

This roadmap is subject to change

Every entry on this page can change. A ✓ means the first revision of that item is complete, not that it is final: an area marked supported may still receive fixes, and features requested for a later suite can alter its scope or move it back to a different status. Use this page as a direction indicator, not as a guarantee for planning.

Components can ship between phases

A phase describes a full-fledged release, not a release train. TechStack's interop system, combined with the package manager introduced in DataFlex 26.0, lets components ship on their own schedule: FlexTron, the database drivers provided out of the box, and the Web UI server and client capabilities are all packages. Over time, more and more components will be released independently of one another. So an item documented under a later phase can become available earlier — FlexTron on Windows belongs to Phase 1 and FlexTron on the other platforms to Phase 2, but a cross-platform FlexTron package may well appear in between.

Both bit widths are also available from DataFlex Windows, which ships as 27.0.0+windows-64 and 27.0.0+windows-32. The tables on this page report the status of the TechStack toolchains; DataFlex Windows is the current-generation product and is unchanged by them.

The Studio remains a Windows tool. Development on the other platforms is intended to happen in VS Code rather than through a ported Studio, which is why the Studio rows are marked N/A there.

Studio

The Studio is a Windows application, so every row below is N/A on the other platforms. The Windows column is the status for the TechStack native toolchains, the WebAssembly column for the TechStack wasm toolchains. DataFlex Windows toolchains are deliberately not in this table: a DataFlex Windows workspace keeps the Studio it has today, including the Data Dictionary Modeler, DDO Structure Editor, Database Builder, Database Explorer and the table and connection tools. A ✗ below means a TechStack equivalent is still to be implemented, not that a tool was withdrawn.

Remote development from the Studio — targeting a container or another platform from the Windows Studio — is under consideration for a future suite. It is not implemented, so the other platform columns stay N/A for now.
